F Squadron North Irish Horse

This diary covers the period from just before the squadron embarked for France on 16 November 1915 to 30 June 1916. During this time it operated as divisional cavalry squadron to the 33rd Division (16 November 1915 to 18 April 1916), 49th Division (16 to 20 May 1916) and 32nd Division (21 May to 20 June 1916). From 19 April to 15 May 1916 it was attached to the 1st Cavalry Division for training.

On 25 May 1916 the squadron was re-designated as B Squadron, and on 21 June 1916 joined C Squadron of the North Irish Horse and the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons Service Squadron to form the 2nd North Irish Horse Reigment, serving as corps cavalry regiment to X Corps.

The diary is sourced from National Archives documents WO 95/2413 and WO 95/874.
